CarryOn은 컴퓨터에서 돌아가는 AI 코딩 세션(Claude Code, Codex, Aside, Gemini CLI)이 얼마나 찼는지 보여 주는 무료 앱입니다. Mac·Windows 앱, Android 폰 앱, 이 웹사이트가 있습니다. CarryOn에는 계정도, 앱 데이터를 받는 서버도 없습니다. 이 문서는 각각이 무엇을 읽고, 어디에 두고, 어디로 보내는지 적습니다.

컴퓨터 앱 (Mac, Windows)

컴퓨터에 이미 있는 AI 도구의 세션 기록을 읽어 이 컴퓨터 화면에만 보여 줍니다. 읽는 것은 세션 이름·id, 제목(첫 질문의 앞 60자일 수 있음), 작업 폴더, 토큰 수, 시각, 실행 중인 프로세스 목록입니다. 마지막 요청과 답의 일부는 화면에 보여 줄 때 메모리에서만 읽고 저장하지 않습니다.
사용자가 붙인 이름, 메모, 설정은 이 컴퓨터의 CarryOn 폴더(~/.carryon)와 앱 설정에 저장합니다.
백업하고 메모리 정리를 누르면 그 세션 하나의 기록과 읽기 쉬운 .md를 ~/.carryon/backups/에 복사한 뒤, 그 도구 자신의 /compact(claude 또는 codex)를 실행합니다. 세션에서 직접 /compact를 칠 때와 같이, 대화는 요약을 위해 사용자가 쓰는 모델 회사로 갑니다. CarryOn이 따로 보내는 것은 없습니다.
폰 연결은 기본으로 꺼져 있습니다. 켜면 같은 와이파이에서 폰이 찾을 수 있게 알리고(mDNS _carryon._tcp), 연결한 폰에만 컴퓨터 이름과, 세션마다 이름·도구 종류·id·찬 정도·상태·마지막 활동 시각을 보냅니다. 세션 이름은 앱에 보이는 이름으로, AI 도구가 붙인 제목이나 폴더 이름일 수 있습니다. 연결할 때 만든 키로 암호화합니다(X25519, ChaCha20-Poly1305). 대화 내용과 폴더 전체 경로는 보내지 않습니다.
Mac의 업데이트 확인은 브라우저에서 GitHub 릴리스 페이지를 엽니다.

폰 앱 (Android)

같은 와이파이에서 연결한 컴퓨터하고만 직접 통신합니다. 위에 적은 세션 이름·찬 정도·상태를 받고, 사용자가 누른 정리 요청을 보냅니다. 연결할 때 폰은 기기 모델 이름(예: Pixel 8)을 컴퓨터에 알리고, 컴퓨터는 이를 ~/.carryon/lan/에 저장합니다.
연결한 컴퓨터의 키, 주소, 이름과 이미 보낸 알림 기록을 폰의 보안 저장소(Android Keystore)에 둡니다. 백업으로 다른 기기에 옮겨지지 않고, 연결 해제나 앱 삭제로 지워집니다.
카메라는 컴퓨터 화면의 연결 QR을 읽을 때만 씁니다. QR은 폰 안에서 읽고(ZXing), 카메라 화면은 저장하거나 보내지 않습니다.
알림은 폰 안에서 만듭니다. 앱이 꺼져 있어도 운영체제가 허락할 때(Android는 15분에 한 번까지) 연결한 컴퓨터에 상태를 묻습니다.
폰 앱은 같은 네트워크에서 컴퓨터를 찾고(mDNS), 연결한 컴퓨터 말고는 어디에도 연결하지 않습니다. 광고, 분석 도구, 오류 보고 도구를 넣지 않았습니다.
처음 화면의 예시로 둘러보기는 앱에 든 예시 데이터만 보여 주고, 네트워크와 카메라를 쓰지 않습니다.

이 웹사이트 (carryon-app.pages.dev)

방문을 셉니다. 남기는 것은 날짜(UTC), 페이지 경로, 들어온 사이트의 도메인, 나라, 보여 준 언어, 링크의 ?s= 표시입니다. 다운로드는 날짜와 시각, 나라, 들어온 도메인, Mac인지 아닌지, Android APK를 받았는지를 남깁니다.
IP 주소, 전체 브라우저 정보, 쿠키는 저장하지 않습니다. 이 기록으로는 사람을 알아볼 수 없습니다.
사이트는 Cloudflare Pages가, 앱 파일은 GitHub Releases가 전달합니다. 두 회사는 페이지를 보내려고 요청(IP 주소 포함)을 각자의 방침에 따라 처리합니다.

공유와 판매

CarryOn은 개인정보를 팔거나 광고에 쓰거나 다른 회사에 넘기지 않습니다. 위에 적은 것 말고는 사용자에 대한 정보를 받지 않습니다.

삭제

앱 데이터는 모두 사용자의 기기에 있습니다. 폰에서는 연결 해제나 앱 삭제로, 컴퓨터에서는 앱 삭제와 ~/.carryon 폴더 삭제로 지울 수 있습니다(Mac 앱 설정은 시스템 설정 파일에 남을 수 있습니다). 웹사이트 통계는 사람과 이어지지 않아 한 사람의 기록만 골라 지울 수 없습니다.

어린이

CarryOn은 AI 코딩 도구를 쓰는 개발자를 위한 앱이며 어린이를 대상으로 하지 않습니다.

바뀌면

이 방침이 바뀌면 이 페이지를 고치고 시행일을 바꿉니다.

Privacy Policy

CarryOn is a free app that shows how full the AI coding sessions on your computer are (Claude Code, Codex, Aside, Gemini CLI). There are Mac and Windows apps, an Android phone app, and this website. CarryOn has no accounts and no server that receives app data. This page says what each part reads, where it keeps it and where it sends it.

Computer apps (Mac, Windows)

CarryOn reads the session logs your AI tools already keep on your computer and shows them on that computer only: session names and ids, titles (which may be the first 60 characters of the first prompt), working folders, token counts, times, and the list of running processes. Parts of a session's last requests and reply are read in memory to show them, never stored.
Names you give sessions, memos and settings are kept on that computer, in CarryOn's folder (~/.carryon) and the app's settings.
Back up & compact copies that one session's log, with a readable .md, to ~/.carryon/backups/, then runs the tool's own /compact (claude or codex). As when you type /compact in the session, the conversation goes to your model provider to be summarized. CarryOn sends nothing itself.
Phone link is off by default. When you turn it on, the computer announces itself on your Wi-Fi (mDNS _carryon._tcp) and sends the computer's name and, for each session, its name, tool, id, fullness, state and last activity time, only to phones you paired, encrypted with keys made when you paired (X25519, ChaCha20-Poly1305). A session's name is the one the app shows, which can be a title set by the AI tool or a folder's name. Conversations and full folder paths are never sent.
On the Mac, Check for Updates opens the GitHub releases page in your browser.

Phone app (Android)

The phone talks only to the computers you paired, directly, on the same Wi-Fi. It receives the session names, fullness and state above and sends the compaction requests you make. When connecting, it tells the computer its device model (for example, Pixel 8), which the computer keeps in ~/.carryon/lan/.
The paired computers' keys, addresses and names, and which alerts were already shown, are kept in the phone's secure storage (Android Keystore). They are not restored to another device and are deleted when you unpair or delete the app.
The camera is used only to read the pairing QR code on your computer's screen. The code is read on the phone (ZXing); the picture is never saved or sent.
Alerts are made on the phone. While the app is closed, it asks the paired computers for their status when the system allows (on Android, at most every 15 minutes).
The phone app looks for computers on the same network (mDNS) and connects to nothing but the computers you paired. There are no ads, analytics or crash-reporting tools in the apps.
See an example on the first screen shows sample data built into the app; it uses no network and no camera.

This website (carryon-app.pages.dev)

Visits are counted: the day (UTC), the page's path, the referring site's domain, the country, the language shown and the link's ?s= tag. Downloads record the day and time, the country, the referring domain, whether it was a Mac, and whether it was the Android APK.
No IP addresses, full browser strings or cookies are stored, and these records cannot identify a person.
Cloudflare Pages serves the site and GitHub Releases serves the app files; each handles requests (including IP addresses) under its own policy in order to deliver them.

Sharing and selling

CarryOn does not sell personal data, use it for ads or hand it to other companies. It receives nothing about you beyond what is listed above.

Deleting your data

All app data is on your own devices. On a phone, unpair or delete the app; on a computer, delete the app and the ~/.carryon folder (on a Mac, its preferences file can stay behind). Website statistics are not linked to anyone, so one person's records cannot be picked out.

Children

CarryOn is made for developers who use AI coding tools and is not directed at children.

If this policy changes, this page is updated along with its effective date.
